La Izquierda Fest is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the communities of Galveston and the Gulf Coast through surfing, the arts, and fostering local culture.
The City of Galveston plans to launch their African American Cultural Heritage District as part of the City’s Arts and Culture Master Plan, created through an Our Town NEA Grant, a joint project with the city of Galveston, the Galveston Arts Center, and the Park Board.
Kempner Park is one of Galveston’s oldest parks containing a rich history with beautiful views and ambiance to show it.
Located in Kempner the Garten Verein pavilion, which is a historic grand space often used for weddings and other formal events.
Located just outside the McGuire-Dent Recreation Center, the Menard park offers a beach-side view containing many fun activities, such as an outdoor fitness court, fun playground, interactive splash pad, dog park, multiple tennis courts, a community garden, and a skatepark. The park also includes the historic bandshell used for concerts, performances, and other events.
Seeding Galveston is a nonprofit organization that is committed to developing sustainable agriculture on Galveston Island and ensuring that all residents have access to healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables.
